TWO BEDROOM HOUSE

This two-storey residential self-build showcases a light gauge steel frame construction system, combining speed, precision and exceptional thermal performance.
The structural steel frame features diagonal wind bracing throughout the walls and roof trusses, providing rigidity and stability across both floors. Timber-lined window and door openings are built directly into the frame, ready to receive standard window units.
External walls are clad with Kingspan Therma rigid insulation boards, held in place with timber battens — delivering outstanding U-values and a highly energy-efficient building envelope. The insulation is applied in horizontal runs across the full wall face, with neat returns at the corners.
The pitched roof follows the same steel frame system, with elegant curved gable detailing visible in the end elevation. The concrete slab foundation provides a solid, level base for the entire structure.
Shown here at the insulation and weatherproofing stage, this build demonstrates how light gauge steel framing delivers a fast, accurate and thermally efficient solution for modern self-build homes.
